Reading aloud to your child is a very special experience

I have happy memories of doing this.

Aw🥰 special reading time.
If I have a kid, I hope to have special reading time together with them for as long as they wish.

I don't have any memories of either of my parents reading to me, but I wouldn't be surprised if one of them read to us as kids, and I was just too young to remember. My parents and grandparents greatly encouraged reading. I remember my grandparents old house had a basement that was lined with bookcases. They had a huge encyclopedia section at different levels and with loads of pictures for kids. I read those a lot whenever we'd visit.

I enjoyed reading to my younger brother when he couldn't yet read and I have some fond memories of reading books to him. And later I have fond memories of my dad letting me and my brothers all raid his bookshelves for books when I was in my teens. He had quite the collection of classic literature, sci fi, and horror.

I always enjoyed making literature time special as a teacher too.

Reading is such a pleasure and a privilege. One everyone should have. :)

Makes me wish I decided to keep many of my books and have a collection like my dad and grandparents. But most of my books are e-books now.
