Are you a fan of Neil Gaiman?

I tell you, I am either wrapped up in detail or blind as a bat. I have loved Stardust for years and years and 1 - never noticed it was based on a book or 2 - that said book was written by Neil Gaiman. Not that it truly matters, just that I’d actually known of him through Good Omens, which I had liked and often tend to explore more from the source of any work I enjoy…although I’m obviously sorely lacking in those efforts given the frequency with which I’m surprised to learn a source! Anyway, I got diving down that rabbit hole and found there are several others he’s written that pique my interest. My eyes bout rolled out my head over all this, but still, it’s kind of a delightful thing. 🤭

I had always heard of him through the Comics world in the late 80s early 90s through the DC comics line “The Sandman” which is actually a pretty sophisticated read for a comic.
I really got into him through a book called “Nevermore” which was the screenplay for a BBC series and reminded me of a meld between “Alice in Wonderland” and “The Labyrinth” with Bowie.

@Pfuzylogic Neverwhere? Or is there a Nevermore as well? A sequel? I was looking at Neverwhere and I’m just pausing because they put him on a line with Stephen King and I know I don’t want the pants scared off me. Are the dark elements really the stuff of nightmares or just good depth?

@JustNik He doesn't do scary for the sake of it. All of his tales involve a human using reason to get themselves out of a weird situation. A better story teller and writer than SK, in my opinion.

@SunshineGirl Thank you! That would work for me then 😄

My mistake it is Neverwhere. It has been such a long time and it is such a good read. There are two really evil villains but I found them too comical to be frightening!

@Pfuzylogic Oh good! 😄👍
@Pfuzylogic Neverwhere was my introduction to Neil Gaiman. He's been a favorite since then.
