What is a highly recommended book you read and hated?

I’ll start…

For months everyone kept recommending The Never King in all of my reading groups. I finally caved and read it. It was terrible, but that’s my unpopular opinion!

Last one I read that I'd recommended is the Life of Pi... The thinking starts when the book ends and it's beautifully written

@Convivial So you liked it then? That’s nice

@whisperingwillow definitely... Highly recommend it

@Convivial Just wanted to clarify since I was asking about books people hated 😂 I’ll have to add Life of Pi to my reading list :)

@whisperingwillow oops.... Takes me back to school days with the injunction to read the bloody question properly 🤣

@Convivial 😂 It’s all good. I’m terrible about reading a reply on here, commenting…and then later I come back to it and see it and realize I read it wrong/misinterpreted what they said

@whisperingwillow glad I'm not alone lol

@Convivial In the spirit of this post, in spite of it being recommended, I detested The Life of Pi.

@jim44444 I don’t think I’d like it myself, but I’ve been trying to open up and try new reading materials recently. Sometimes you can be pleasantly surprised! Alas, I am the neutral, clueless party atm 😂

@jim44444 any idea why?
