What is the last book you’ve read? Did you like it?

Slavomir Rawicz was a young Polish cavalry officer. On 19 November 1939 he was arrested by the Russians and after brutal interrogation he was sentenced to twenty-five years in a gulag.

I think this has got to be one of the most interesting books I have read for a long time. I could not believe how much hardship they had to endure and how they were able to keep walking every day. The kindness of the people they met on the way who fed them and gave them shelter was a lesson in humanity. Everyone should read this book to wonder at the sheer determination of the human spirit.

Proverbs. No. It reads like a list of sayings and is hard to follow or remember. 😅

@Colonelmustardseed Probably because it IS a series of sayings. It isn't ment to have a "plot" you can "follow." They are ment for you to learn from them.
@MasterDvdC And I do learn from them. But it’s not an enjoyable read because it’s like a list. I learn from Psalms as well, but that book has relatable emotion and moments.

@Colonelmustardseed A more enjoyable read because they are actually songs.

@Colonelmustardseed They are even more interesting if you know something about Hebrew poetry.
