Book suggestions

I’m coming to the end of The Stand (via audible) as I don’t have time to actually read these days not sure where to go next. I did download the first two Game of Thrones books but not sure I’m ready for another 30 hour plus read/listen 🤔 I’m open minded when it comes to fiction. What’s some of your favourite.

My favourite book by far the past couple of years had been Project Hail Mary. Loved everything about it. Bonus was that the narrator was awesome 🙌🏽
Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy - by Douglas Adams
unabridged, read by the author.
I don't know if Audible has the unabridged, read by the author versions; we listened to them long ago on CD or tape or something. It's a good story with lots of interesting SF ideas, and very very humorous. Likewise the subsequent books. Like I say, I don't know if the unabridged, read by the author versions are on Audible, but they are the best.

Harry Potter, as read by Jim Dale.
If you've never read the books, there's a world of detail the movies didn't have time for. The first 3 books are short, and you don't have to listen one after another, you can intersperse other books.

The True Meaning of Smekday - Adam Rex
It's a kind of young adult SF story - involving an alien invasion - with lots of humor. The narrator is really great!

Just read attack surface by Cory Doctorow which was pretty good

Try The Scarlet Gospels by Clive Barker.
