I’m listening to Michio Kaku’s “Physics of the Impossible” audio book as research for a sci-fi story I’m working on.
@Zaphod42 Kaku is a very interesting guy.
I just finished Holding Up the Universe by Jennifer Niven. I don't read much "young adult fiction," but enjoyed this one. It's about the relationship between two high school students, a boy who has "face blindness" where he can't recognize anyone, not even his family, and a girl who gained so much weight that her house had to be demolished to get her out.
The Case Against the Supreme Court by Erwin Chemerinsky, the Dean of Berkeley Law. The book is about how throughout most of its history (with the exception of the Warren Court) the Supreme Court has failed to protect minorities, the poor, and the powerless from the wealthy and powerful.
12 Rules for Life
Book by Jordan Peterson

I have this book at my desk for a while now.
@Ihopetolivehappily Yes, Jordan Peterson, the apostle to the incels.

I have a very low opinion of that guy.
@LeopoldBloom i don't know his personal life or his complete work and philosophy.

Some of his thoughts are valid, and the book seems to have got od points.

So i don't care about him apostle of anything.

My.favorite sci-fi short story writer, Jason Sanford, recently put out his first novel. Just got it, titled Plague Birds
I’m trying to find a some gratuitous sex and violence at the moment. Medieval Philosophy kinda wore out my brain.

re-reading the Foundation series by Asimov. Still enjoying it.
@Bushranger Me too! I took a break after the first two books but will get back to it.

@LeopoldBloom I hadn't read it for many years, but then I watched the Foundation series on Apple TV. Had to get the bad taste out of my mouth by reading it again. That series was absolute crap.

Crime and Punishment.

@SW-User Dostoyevksy? It's not an easy read. It's about guilt and redemption. I think you ought to turn yourself in and read this book in your jail cell and meditate on your crimes every day for seven years, so that you might be redeemed.

@SW-User It's so miserable, right from the start 😂 I'm about a third of the way through and this has to be one of the most depressing novels I've ever read
@SW-User Wow! Not the most cheerful book you could read.
