Long Long Long time ago... I had the opportunity to start reading the dutch translations of Robin Hobb who were all being released in hardcover OR the Shannara series by Terry Brooks. And I took Brooks. It was pretty good, but by now, I sometimes wonder if I didn't make the bad choise, considerings that Hobbs' books ussually get more praise from the fantasy community. I never read them.

@ViciDraco Of course not... but you can only read so much man. Time is limited. And I'm not sure if you ever looked up how many books Terry Brooks wrote, but there are a lot that all deal with Shannara. I've read pretty much all of what was translated till my early 20s.
Shannara is beneath the "Song of Ice and Fire" and Harry Potter shelf at the bottom.

I read the Farseer trilogy.. A royal bastard trained from prepubescence to be an assassin, spends much of his time in the stables tending to animals without killing anyone.. Found it boring.

I've read all of Robin Hobb. Now I'm almost through book 10 of the Wheel of Time...
