When was the last time you paid a visit to your local library?

Yes, Google is the answer to almost everything, but still not going that well with "42", are we? PDF there, .epub and .whatnot in the other corner, but how about actually reading a bloody book? A book, as a physical entity, that you can hold in your hands, flip the pages around, feel the texture and so on... Something you can take with you to Mars, should that be your final destination. A book. A simple book, for Bob's sake.

I'm an avid reader, but I've completely made the conversion to E-books.

I love being able to carry tons of books in my purse ... when I finish one, I start another.

So ... do you tell time with a sun dial too ???? ... It's the 21'st century now !!!

@NCCindy First 2 lines made a valid and compelling argument.
3rd line cast you as a spoiled, impudent, and rude, "adult aged child".
ZonkeyBalls · 46-50, M
@NCCindy I have about two thousand e-books. But it's rather difficult to put them on my book shelve.
NCCindy · 36-40, F
@xixgun Excuse me ... but ... there's a lot to be said for embracing new technologies that actually improve your life.

Personally, I think E-books are the greatest thing that happened to mankind since moveable type !!!
JaggedLittlePill · 46-50, F
@xixgun so the OP's jab at those who might not open an actual book was ok but her small jab back is not? Seems hypocritical.
ZonkeyBalls · 46-50, M
@xixgun Apparently certain individuals like to hammer down the "one alternative only" approach.
xixgun · M
@NCCindy They have their place, but when you lose power for more than 3 days, there goes your library.
Plus, you can't do this with an ebook -
xixgun · M
@JaggedLittlePill As I said, she was making a valid argument, then she became a teenager
ZonkeyBalls · 46-50, M
@JaggedLittlePill I don't quite follow the logic here. Might be, that I'm merely completely retarded, that has been on the table ever since I was born. First of all "21st" is written as shown here. My bad. Sundial is not two different words either. My bad. Jagged... You do realize, that most of the things Sheryl Crow was on about in her song weren't even ironic to begin with? My bad.
NCCindy · 36-40, F
@ZonkeyBalls Never imagined that I'd be so controversial.

The big thing here is ... reading is a great thing and technology can enable us to do more of it !!!
jerMIguy · 41-45, M
@NCCindy Wow. You really took a beating here. Lol. For the record, I think you were spot on. ;)
ZonkeyBalls · 46-50, M
@NCCindy If you have a chance to purchase the WWW (Wake, Watch, Wonder) trilogy written by a Canadian science fiction author Robert J. Sawyer, I really recommend it, from all of my heart and soul.
ZonkeyBalls · 46-50, M
@jerMIguy So, I should have had 3000 e-books?
jerMIguy · 41-45, M
@ZonkeyBalls You can do whatever you want - paper books or e-books. However, if, like Cindy, you want to be able to carry multiple books with you to have at the ready, I would recommend e-books. There was nothing faulty in her logic. You’re just looking for a fight.
ZonkeyBalls · 46-50, M
@jerMIguy No, I wasn't. She was the one to bring up sundials.

Unless you have something to defend her comment on that. Do you?
Lostpoet · M
@NCCindy I love my kindle. I still have the old 3g digital ink one.
ZonkeyBalls · 46-50, M
@Lostpoet That's a classic. Does it come with a sundial or do you have to download the app? ;o)
Lostpoet · M
@ZonkeyBalls MY amazon library is already downloaded on it. I bought it way back in like 09 when Amazon promised books wouldn't go over 10$ but of course they did.
