Who is favorite author, novelist, columnist and story writer?

I particularly appreciate Megham Daum, Sushmita Bose (Single in the city), Jhumpa Lahiri, John laCarre.
I still have a long way to go. I will be reading more by contemporary authors and posting about them. Until then, tell me about the ones you like.

Wow, great question.

Historian has to be Antony Beevor, I’ll read anything from him. He has a new book coming out on the battle of Arnhem in WWII, it’s in my list.

Novelist? Hard to say. I don’t read a lot of novels. GRR Martin, perhaps, based on the fact that I’m anxiously awaiting the next Song of Ice and Fire novel.

I never read LeCarre until I took Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy with me on a trip last year. I loved it. Can’t believe I’d never read him before.
