I would like to know if any in S.W. has given thought to writing a book?

I would like to know if any in S.W. has given thought to writing a book?
I write. I can write memories and fantasies'. I try hard to hold the memory of my self as a child. Remembering my dreams and my thoughts and the knowing I was deeply loved by my parents. Frankly, I (being the youngest) was well aware I was Mama's favorite. Still knowing we felt the same. I miss Mama. I sometimes feel her presence looking over my shoulder.
I have written poetry. I have a published book on Amazon, That I didn't purchase the copyright, I have no rights to the shares in sales. And Carla is always writing something. Be it a dream or merely a thought, I continue to open my mind with my thoughts and dreams. Also I feel I am an open book with poetry. Still when I write it ALL comes from within.
The lonely friendless little girl who sat in a tree in her back yard reading books and being amazed at how the paragraphs always collided in perfect Sincerity.

I've thought about it, but just don't know how to get it to sell.
And the process of doing it.

@Virgo79 Have you attempted to search for Publishers?
You might look out on the Internet. Your Librairy may assist. Of getting it to sell is the job of the publisher. After all they get a cut from the sales. At your Mall*if you have one close, A good Book store may have a book. may have book on Publishing might direct you. Make extra copies to give to your friends.
Myself, I never searched for a Publisher. Wish I had, then I would have been accessible to Royalties or Sales.
I didn't write for making a profit. I just felt that what I had in this story, had worth to another child or young person, JUST learning about horses.

Well what it would be about would be very entertaining, but people had gotta want to read it before they'll but it.
That would be the tough part

@Virgo79 The writing is NOT the problem. In fact the writing for me was enlightening. I was amazed at the words and the scenery, was the color of the pictures I had felt was visional in my mind. Vergo, if you love these words then others will as well. Choose the age group you feel would best suit your audience.
Mine was to a certain age group; Young people Children , and in these words I chose I felt I was placing the questions into the minds of the others. I always wanted to learn to ride. One year as a Christmas gift from my Aunt, she gifted me with Riding lessons. A gift I will forever be grateful.
The child I created to be the *star* of story was very much like myself. When I write I use all my senses. Taste, Touch, Protectiveness and emotion. In this I can almost tell the reader what to see, and to feel. In this they too can become the heroine of the story.
Tell me what it is you want to give? What is it you want to share? Speak to your reader as you would speak to a close friend. Offer advise when warented.

@Virgo79 There are lots of Facebook groups set up to help publish and sell books. Search for one in the genre you write for. You will find tips on how to self-publish, be found, pricing, promotion and getting reviews.

@Virgo79 My 1st thought would be to take it to a book store and ask. Another option might be your public Library.
From our current conversations within this subject, I have seen external advertisements. If you have a personal computer, that can be your first foot in. I only began the writing of my own, because I loved the story I was telling.
A book store may well present you with a few others like yourself.

@Virgo79 search for guerilla publishing in Facebook and join it. Some oustanding advice on how to get books to sell. Run by a very successful writer.
@Virgo79From a reality point of view, it is so hard to get published these days. But, that doesn't mean that it's hard, either, at least not for some.

Pre-publishing is very helpful, but that comes in at a cost and even then it's possible that the structure of what is written will be critically assessed (in your interest, of course,) and further work needed to eventually get it to be written 'correctly' for the publishing house of choice. It all costs money with absolutely no guarantee that it will be found acceptable in the final analysis. 90% of what is submitted is rejected, whilst within the 'acceptable' 10% there would still be those which would be considered needing 'tweaking'.

'50 Shades of Grey' went 'Viral'; not easy to do in actual print, but it did and so many Authors agree that the work itself is full of (considerd) 'obvious' mistakes. I guess it's not too unlike saying that what is expected to fall outside 'acceptable', in this case, is what forced it to become a success ... and still is a success.

Self publishing can be lucrative because less instant cash is needed, whilst 'print on demand' these days is considered a good way to begin any future career. But in any event, it's best to start thinking along the lines of making a bit of money on the way rather than becoming a millionaire overnight. But ... you never know; you could be the next famous writer in Barnes and Noble

Good luck to you :)
