Hm. Beauty is a very loaded term, like truth. I suppose there is a kind of desperation one could find beautiful, like demonstrative of our struggles in life. Desperation in matters of attraction is quite odious, I think most would agree. I guess they mean a desperate passion. The kind of thing in romance novels. Rushing into an embrace, loving against all odds.
Risk in pretending not to care. Hm. I guess if you let what you love get away from you, if you aren't brave enough to go after it, you'll suffer endless regret.
Well, I guess it would be realistic to expect more of pathos from a poem, less of logos, in a general sense.

@Stark You're welcome. I'm glad to offer a perspective.
You seem adroit at making friendships here. You seem nice.

@DanielChristensen as betweenfatandfit mentioned, it’s hard to picture desperation in any other way but in a way of shame the whole time I was reading this poem I was like, “hm, nice I suppose” and then it gets to the desperate part and I’m lost. 😆 “being desperate is in no way a good thing! It’s kind of...pathetic and leads to terrible situations.” But after reading your replies and many others my view point has completely changed about it and I can see how it can be both.
well maybe I’ll make you my next friend then 😁

@Stark I misunderstood you at first and edited my reply. I haven't had much sleep in 3 days. My neighbor is blasting music a lot. Talking to him about it didn't help.
I'm useful for interpreting words, not useful for much else though. 🤓
That would be nice. Thank you. 😊

@Stark I should but I don't want to. Two reasons, one practical and one sentimental. The practical reason is war with your neighbors is bad. I've had a neighbor pepper my driveway with nails. I've fixed a flat on my car 4 times in a month before. Sucks.
Second reason is he's been disabled from bad diabetes for many years. He looks like a sickly little jaundiced Jesus. Now I hear he has cancer. He's smoking a ton of pot over there. Idk he might be dying. I'll ask the manager to talk to him tomorrow. Police after that I guess.
