@FelixLegion Yea but that was more out of a misunderstanding than because they thought eating him would be a laugh.

@BlackHeart I believe they used a sort of thin rounded stone (a think its called a mere (not sure how it's spelt)) attached to the end of a club and the idea was essentially you could kill your opponent in two strikes if you did it right.
The first strike was meant to be hit on the opponents shoulder so they couldn't raise their weapon to block the second blow, which was aimed just behind the temple and if hit, would crack the opponents skull in and kill them.

@xCoinx yeah! A mere was just one of the weaponry but it was definitely effective at cracking bone.

My favourite has to be the taiaha which is a spear of sorts it has its own unique combat style and is often used in traditional greetings

@BlackHeart No it was the Hawaiians when he first showed up it was their season of Lono and when he tried to return to the island shortly after leaving it was their season of Makahiki and I dunno this caused some confusion about how Cook should be treated is he was now the god Makahiki
