Which character from literature would you meet if you could?

Any, fictional or real, human or alien and WHY would you meet them specifically?

Winston from 1984

@SimplyTracie That was a charming book. Another, in sort of the same vein was, Mister God, This is Anna. By an author who goes by the name of Fynn, no last name. If you can find it, I think you'd like it.
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
@Serenitree I will look for it. Thank you 😊

I’d like to meet jay gatsby and hopefully learn from his mistakes of dwelling on the past after the encounter
Angelfire21 · 36-40, F
@Insomniac100 And maybe ask him to go to just one of his parties??? Call me insensitive, but they were supposed to be legendary <3 Great answer!
HermannFegelein · 26-30, M
@Angelfire21 lol....have you seen the movies? I've actually only read part of the book, but I've seen the movie with leonardo DiCaprio.
Angelfire21 · 36-40, F
@HermannFegelein I have not! I'm not really into TV. I mean I watch some movies, but I have trouble sitting down and watching things so I usually get bits and pieces between running around and being on my computer and phone. Adult onset ADD haha

Cole from Touching Spirit Bear. He's a troubled yet mentally tough prison inmate. Something a softy like me needs to learn how to be from time to time. Cole is a prisoner but he has this "don't tell me what to do" attitude which I can admire. I let people take advantage of my kindness often.
Angelfire21 · 36-40, F
@HermannFegelein I haven't read it, but that is a very thoughtful comment. I think that we are often attracted to the idea of characters who have qualities that we wish we had. I love the Boudica series by Manda Scott and admire the main character in those novels intensely because she's a bad ass warrior who is respected by men and women alike and there's a lot about her that I wish I was.

Thanks for the reply and don't stop being a "nice guy". There aren't enough of them in the world. <3

Great question.

Any number of characters from A Song of Ice and Fire. Jon Snow, Ned Stark, Tyrion...
76starships · 46-50, M
@Angelfire21 Hahaha! Can't argue with that. I'm sure he'd break his Night's Watch vows again for someone as lovely as you.
Angelfire21 · 36-40, F
@76starships <3 I would meet Ned Stark also. I had a lot of respect for the character in spite of his follies. Great answer, thanks for commenting
76starships · 46-50, M
@Angelfire21 Yeah, I admire his sense of honor. Even if it undid him.

Lazarus Long, from the book Time Enough for Love by R.A. Heinlein. He is a character with character. If you get my meaning. There's depth to him. He is wise and kind.
Angelfire21 · 36-40, F
@Serenitree I love this answer. I don't know who this person is as I haven't read this book, but I will definitely look it up because I'm a literature hound and have to feed my addiction :P Thanks for the thoughtful reply!
Serenitree · F
@Angelfire21 Haha, I could have written a book, just to describe the character, and how much I admire him, and incidentally, his creator, Robert Heinlein.
Mr Rochester. (the Toby Stevens version) from Jane Eyre.
Casheyane · 31-35, F
@CallmeHopelessNotRomantic Is he better than Mr. Darcy? Haven't read Jane Eyre
@Casheyane my lord yes! Toby Stephens is amazing.
Casheyane · 31-35, F
@CallmeHopelessNotRomantic I got the exclamation point in that haha :) Might give it a shot one day. Thanks
Casheyane · 31-35, F
Ahm wait, why is this question SO difficult haha? Seriously just one?
Angelfire21 · 36-40, F
@Casheyane Because there are like a million people throughout many novels. I mean, my top 3 from ONE GENRE: Dumbledore, Gandalf and Drizt Dourden
Casheyane · 31-35, F
@Angelfire21 Now the conflict here is whether people believe The Bible to be fictional or real. Personally for me, it's real which means the characters are real.

But for the sake of answering this question and considering The Bible as literature, I'd say I wanna meet these personalities:

King Solomon, Esther, Jesus
Prince Charming (from Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella)
Dumbledore, Draco Malfoy
Cupid and Psyche
and many more haha XD
