Had a sleepless night for reasons I won't go into here and there was a thunderstorm. Today is cool with total cloud coverage and everything is wet. I think I might wear tights and a dress today. But I'm so disorganized, I brought a selection of skirts and a dress in from my car but neglected to bring a cardigan. Mind you it's not exactly cold compared to back home. It's the damp and the breeze that makes it less comfortable, especially when the sun isn't shining.

In the Tiger Eats Carrot café. Listening to the Beatles, Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds.

Showered and half dressed. This is the dress I'll wear today. If you see a bit of a bulge at the front it's because I haven't put my knickers and tights on yet

So the question is: tights or bare legs?
anoderod55 · 61-69, M
@ninalanyon Tights are fine . Bare legs are better 🌺

Is there something about me that attracts drunks?

There I was sitting my favourite Brighton pub, the St James. Sitting in a corner of the almost empty bar and along comes a red headed guy, in his early thirties I suppose, who asked if he could sit at the same table. Of course I said yes, partly out of politeness and partly because I was curious as to why.

He started out wondering how we were going to survive. Turns out he meant the human race. I told him that there are over seven billion of us, hard to exterminate really. Seemed to have a bad case of generalised persecution complex (TM). Poor guy, he's in one of the most tolerant easygoing cities in the UK and he feels that the world is against him. I tried to get him to see the benefit of positive thinking. Eventually I finished my snack and my drink and it was time to leave. I left him with this advice, which I think fits a lot of people: stop doing the thing that is making you miserable and go elsewhere, get a different perspective.

I know it's trite, and I know it's difficult. I'm still struggling with my own lifestyle, but staying stuck in the mire that is causing ones depression won't help.

These posts are all in the wrong order because I wasn't able to post them at the time the pictures were taken due to having a long and, I suspect, utterly pointless conversation with the drunk I mentioned before.

So, this is how I was dressed while chatting with him.

It occurred to me this afternoon as I was about to drive to ASDA to do some shopping that I have been at the seaside for nearly a week and not set foot in the sea. So I went down to the beach for a quick paddle

So now I'm up to date. Here is how I am dressed now in my newly bought charity shop skirt.

ninalanyon · 61-69, T
@anoderod55 Thank you! The skirt was only three quid in a charity shop as well. Wearing it again today, but with tights and a cardigan, it's only 11⁰C here today!

Back at the St James for one last time before leaving early tomorrow morning. Having a pint of Landlord and a plate of kibeh

Sorry to read that you have had trouble sleeping, hope you get a good nights rest tonight.
ninalanyon · 61-69, T
@Wol62 Thanks. Me too, have to get up early to drive to Crawley to get to the car there by 08:30 so they can fix the parking sensors. They've gone totally bananas. They yell stop stop when I'm five metres from the car in front at traffic lights. In fact they even do it when I stop at a junction with no other car in sight!

The background music in the café is all late '60s and early '70s rock. Beatles, Deep Purple, Steppenwolf, Moody Blues. Suits me perfectly, reminds me of my sadly not misspent youth.

But why is it so common? It's not as if the customers are from that era. There are nine of us here including the two staff and I'm the only one who was even alive when all the tracks so far were recorded.

Is contemporary music so ill suited or what?
Havesomefun2 · 56-60, M
Well it’s lovely here in Yorkshire
ninalanyon · 61-69, T
@Havesomefun2 I will be visiting Yorkshire sometime on my travels in the UK. Any special places you think I should visit? But I'm probably going to head for Blackpool next.
Havesomefun2 · 56-60, M

I've just noticed that SW tells me I have a draft post. I didn't know the feature existed. Now I have a question, how do I get rid of it so that SW won't notify me about that one again. Or does it disappear by itself after a while?
