When someone shows themself

To be different to who you thought they were, I used to think people would ignore it because they were fixated on love which can be blind. But maybe it’s an ego thing too, and being unable to admit you were completely wrong about someone

I dont think love is totally blind.

We see people show their true colors, but there is this part of us that is hoping we are not seeing clearly. We want to be wrong in what we are seeing. We hope they will change - for us. That’s a big mistake.

@CookieCrumbs I thought my ex would “grow up” by the time he got in his early 30’s and it seemed he got even more self-centered by then. I had heard of couples who had a rough patch early on in their marriages and things calmed down and worked out later on.

There is a famous Maya Angelou saying, paraphrasing...believe people when they show you who theyare the first time. You can't ignore the warning signs. Sometimes the heart wants what the mind is saying is no good. I always listen to my head and let them go..

When someone shows you who they are then you should believe them.
