A very bizarre question.

Why do the children's book on the nursery rhyme depict Humpty Dumpty as egg shaped, when the rhyme makes no attempt on describing Humpty dumpty whatsoever ?

Humpty Dumpty is King Richard III of England, depicted as humpbacked in Tudor histories and particularly in Shakespeare's play, and who was defeated, despite his armies, at Bosworth Field in 1485. He had severe scoliosis, and not a hump.

@SW-User Thank you. How do 'we' know about the scoliosis?
SW-User
@Really From his skeletal remains

@SW-User Thanks. I wondered if 'he' was available for examination. Maybe it was done by some type of remote imaging.

@Really
His remains were finally found and examined.

@SW-User And there he is - 'DIcky Bird' himself! Wow, and thank you.

@Really Glad to be of some service. It was quite a find.

@SW-User I do now remember he was found under a car park, but I hadn't seen the details & analysis of the skeleton. I find it bizarre to think someone could be playing around with our bones centuries after we die! Are you working/studying in a related field? The idea of doing archeology is fascinating, but all that endless crouching, kneeling & sifting ... the grunt work must be awful.
