That is one strategy for going through life. The downside is it sucks the life out of you.
An alternative strategy would be to work for yourself even if you are employed by someone else. So you set your own goals within that employment structure. Perhaps is just being happy and getting to know co-workers or customers. Maybe use your present employment as a means for advancement within or outside of it. Maybe really work for yourself? Whatever do not hate your life whatever you are doing. Find the good in it I guess.
