I Have Something to Say
I wrote this a couple of months ago and it still applies today...
Listen
Sometimes we just want people to listen. I was talking with a family member last night and we were having a discussion about the stresses of life and needing a break once in a while.
I've been so busy in my life at times that I couldn't wait for a break. I've also had times where I struggled to find things to do and so had more breaks than I've needed. Finding things to keep me busy was and is a luxury I want. Unless of course I'm at the beach or in a boat.
Being busy or not busy is not the issue. We still have feelings of stress and just need to know someone is acknowledging that we're existing, that we're appreciated and that our feelings are valid.
No one who hasn't experienced what you have can possibly understand what it is you are feeling and you'll never get them to understand. When you do find someone who does, cherish their friendship because they are definitely hard to come by.
I've found that it's okay for me that people can't understand some of my experiences. I don't expect them to. I do expect the same respect and consideration I give to them who claim to care about me.
Most times when I shared the feelings I was feeling to others, some would try and tell me what I needed to do about them or what to do about them. It never worked and I don't believe it will ever work. Learning to listen isn't easy by any means but it's more helpful than we realize.
Thank You for listening and just being in my life.
