@Serenitree Yes, but sometimes the moment can be more funny versus embarrassing....especially if the incidents are frequent.
When I attended a private prep school we wore uniforms. The girls wore a plaid skirt with accordion pleats, the kind of skirt that easily lifts up when twirling or catches the wind to float the skirt over one's thighs and waist. Connected to this our campus was located on a hill where a gentle breeze ran through the campus on most days. A couple days of the week the breeze was pretty brisk which meant that our skirt hems were flipping up quite a bit and giving the boys glimpses of our panties. You think that most girls would think this embarrassing but after many years of experiencing this we just took it for granted. It didn't deter us from rolling the waistband of our skirt to raise the hemline to mid-thigh level either! You can guess the result of this....which was giving entertainment to any boy who loved looking up at a girl's skirt....and that described the majority of 'em.
@Serenitree: I take that as good news that even with the passage of time we haven't changed our delight in flirting with one another.....and using the occasional skirt and panty tease to put a smile on our faces.
Good heavens, Serenitrees, how right you are! I had a Skype chat with my grandma last night and she told me about her middle school high school days in the early 1970's. She said that a popular micro dress at that time was called the "Bikini Sizzler". The dress style really took off because of a popular TV show called "Laugh-In" where many of the girls wore the dress while they danced.
The hem of the dress was barely a couple of inches below the border of the panties. The bikini panty worn underneath was supposed to be a matching pattern to the dress. At that time most girls wore pantyhose under the dresses and then the panty over the hose. The popular shoe at the time was the "wedge" that completed the look.
She said that that all the cute girls wore that dress, it was a very popular item. After the first year or so many girls, including herself, adopted a more "hippie" look to the style. This consisted of letting the hair grow down to almost waist level, going bare legged, wearing regular bikini panties, often of a pastel color to contrast with the dress....which meant the boys couldn't miss seeing what color of panties you were wearing that day if they followed up the stairs, lol. Completing the look many would go barefoot or wear simple sandals instead of the wedgie.
She showed me pictures of herself and some of her cousins wearing the sizzler with the hippie girl look. What was startling to me was that I thought I was looking at my mother or one of my older sisters. The resemblance was so uncanny!!
I found a pic of the dress pattern on Bing, here it is:
Really cute, huh?
This gives me an idea for a theme party at our sorority house. We're having a party to celebrate the end of mid-term exams and the beginning of Spring Break in early April. I'm going to suggest we do a "1970's Laugh-In" theme. If it goes with the girls then I'm going to make a dress. I'm sure it's gonna be a lot of fun!
