My ex is from Devils Lake N.D.,she didn't think too highly of the Indians there. As I have much Indian blood I resent the fact they are treating Indians that way still in this day and age

The native people had the only life they've ever known taken from them- and then they are criticized because they aren't Americanizing well enough- everywhere a culture has been oppressed in that way there is increased alchohol, drug use, suicide etc sadly that does build a bad perception- but nobody should try to behave themselves to impress the very society that cast them aside so ignorantly
@Makemeluvit: You're exactly right! Some of my relatives moved onto reservations

Many of my ancestors gathered their animals and their children, hiked on a beautiful day through the trees with sunshine on their faces- and they all walked off the side of a cliff to avoid being enslaved, exploited, and removed from their homes- the site is still a sacred memorial to them
@Makemeluvit: where is the memorial?

There isn't an official memorial but it's the plateau of upper table rock along the rogue river
@Makemeluvit: thank you.. our ancestors have paid more than any others in America
