Wtf is my life...

Husband started complaining of pain in back front of week.

Progressively gets worse. Losing sleep. Pacing. Unfunctional.

Wednesday: Go to ER. He took himself. I stayed home to deal with dog and kids. Er doctor was an idiot who wasn't very attentive to my husband and what he was explaining about his symptoms.

Wednesday Er Doc decides because my husband had high BP that day, he needs BP meds. Without knowledge of if high BP is an issue my husband deals with. Does NOT adress pain. Husband is at the ER at 5am ...

Wed. ER Doc also decides my husband has anxiety. Gives him an anxiety med. Not until 10am. After all the tests (xray and ct scan) my husband was made to lay in pain for hours.

Never addresses pain and stomach issues my husband went in for. I go to the Hospital and demand the doc address the pain and stomach issues. Doc did bare min. Prescribed 10 pain pills. Gave LISINOPRIL(BP med) before leaving hospital. Referred to random primary doc eventhough ours is listed in records and a primary cannot help for these matters. ...My husband sat there until just about 12pm in serious pain. Not addressed.

Thursday husband is doing good in AM because of pain meds. Goes to work. Comes home during lunch and takes LISINOPRIL. in afternoon starts feeling bad again. Pain comes back. Pain meds no longer working.

No sleep. Pain bad. We go to ER friday. 5am. Do not get in room until 7am. Friday doc is on point. Nurse is excellent. Very attentive. Did ALL the tests. Addressed pain in room. Then did more tests. Referred a neuro and spine center. Prescribed steroids. Did not take LISINOPRIL.

SAT AFTERNOON mouth felt weird. Said his lips and tongue felt swollen. Gets progressively worse through Sunday.

Mon morning we went to urgent care. We thought an allergic reaction to Steroids.

But now we believe it was a reaction to LISINOPRIL.

ANGIODEMA. This can be life threatening.

We went to urgent care in am because we are so done with the ER. Thought he was reacting to steroid and needed steroid for pain.

Sunday night was worse. He couldn't eat or drink. Started choking. We rushed to ER. He got an Epi shot. Antihistamines and pepcid because Angiodema is resistant to regular allergic reaction methods.

It has cleared up some but his right side of face is drooping and lips swollen. And around nose and eyes. Meds don't seem to be making it less. We have doc appt today. Another with spine center tomorrow.

I am so worried and drained.

Update

He has Bells Palsy now. Whole right side of face drooping. No stroke. Thank god.

We were told viral. I believe the Angiodema compressed the 7th cranial nerve and caused Bells Palsy to present after getting treated for the reaction...because his entire face was swollen and airways closing.

This shit is insane. I am exhausted. He is exhausted.

Hopefully this is the begining of the mending.

@JaggedLittlePill How treatable is that?
JaggedLittlePill · 46-50, F
@Harmonium1923 Steroid and anti-viral meds. It can take days to resolve or weeks.
@JaggedLittlePill You guys deserve a break from the universe. Several of them. 🫂

I hope he gets the care he needs. Sorry y'all are going through this

OMG that’s brutal. I’m so sorry the two of you are having to deal with this. I’m glad you have been able to advocate for him!

@Harmonium1923 That doctor is going to be reported. When i was discussing the fact that he had not addressed the two concerns my husband was there for and given him an anxiety med he didn't need...he got a phone call and he cut me off and ran out of the room for the phone call.

When he came back I was PISSED. "You can absolutely address the pain by providing pain medication. Do that. Now. "

He was treating my husband like a drug seeker. Any amount of research of his medical records can show that was not the case at all.

@JaggedLittlePill I would not want to the doctor who gets on the wrong side of you!
