I wonder why my MIL is calling me this early.

She only asks me if he is due to come home today because she's not always sure. Yes, he is coming home tonight. Other times he comes home Wednesday - depends on his shift.

On the other hand, he might not come home because it's been raining where he is so we could spend New Years alone too.

The Bruce Highway has been reopened

The road between Townsville and Richmond is open, but west of Richmond is inundated.

The Kennedy Development Road, the Gregory Developmental Road, the Diamantina, the Gulf, and the Burke Development Roads are all closed in sections.

The Jundah power station, which was inundated by outback flooding earlier this year, has been sandbagged.

The Mount Isa line is closed between Hughenden and Cloncurry, there is about 40 kilometres that's still underwater
