I’m with the other poster re. It’s not a big deal if someone uses the word in certain settings but what a weird thing to be impressed over.

@Flenflyys It is a big deal to me and a lot of people who prefer they not be called this. I would question the setting in which this seems a proper word to use when there are other decriptors that aren't linked to detogatory usage.

But we are welcome to think differently and I understand what its original meaning was.

@JaggedLittlePill the word is commonly used non-derogatorily to describe the halting or inhibiting of an action. I’ve used it many times in a professional setting.

In my working career I had a few moments exposed to those "at the top". My overriding opinion was they were slightly less intelligent than the average but had unbelievable self confidence.
