a friend of mine is getting a tattoo today

and I am so enfvious

I want to get one, (on my wrist), but I am terrified of needles.

I'm sort of inspired to book it in now, (because she beat me to it, and I'm not happy), but what do you think?. does it really hurt all that much?

As a rule of thumb you probably shouldn't get one directly over a joint as that's often where nerve endings meet so it will be more painful.

Other than that the first five minutes are the worst
@Picklebobble2 Do you have tattoos, PB ? 😃

@bijouxbroussard I currently have one.
My children's initials on my upper left arm.
But it was a spur of the moment decision at a random tattoo parlour I'm not impressed with the result.

Im trying to design another depicting the initials of my grandchildren.
Trouble is I have 7 of them 🫤
So that's likely to work out at least twice as expensive and currently I'm trying to figure out a good setting for them.

Might be a simple heart with an initial letter in each.
Might be a tower of children's building blocks with an initial letter on each face.
Might be a small 'smiley face' with their initials.

But id suggest you do your research on artists work that impresses you before you commit.
@Picklebobble2 I have four. The first I had done when I was 20 and had graduated from college, started working, and left home all in the same 6 months. I was an adult, ha !
The artist was pretty well-known in the Haight-Ashbury scene, many years later a book of his work was published and my shoulder with the eye of Horus appears along with the rest. 😊
