In the interest of good news....

My 12 year old started Middle School this year and boy was I nervous.

My son struggled and I was worried I would have another child who struggled the same and I am exhausted from it all, really. I want to fix but some things I cannot fix.

Anyway....we got her first report card and....

I had a good and happy cry this morning.

She Got an A, 3 B's and 2 C's.

I told her that I am happy with any of the letters except D and F. I told her a C is a good grade.. it means you made real effort and that you just need to get better at it. ...

I am so flipping proud!

So proud.

Great job to her!

Having my daughter with severe Autism and the struggles we had in school with her and the school struggles my son also had in school, I was always happy with the b & cs. ( he had to have speech and other things in IEP) I always told him it showed his effort.

When he reached high school and got on honor roll. And stayed throughout his schooling. I was beyond happy . He worked so hard. Still does

@Bexsy And he did good because you supported him.

Unfortunately ..my son's mental health prevented him. We are going to work on getting a GED and in our state there are a couple options to earn his diploma.
@JaggedLittlePill before i moved where am now the school district they were in was not supportive. They just wanted to stick my daughter in a corner and basically forget about her. Like she was invisible. My son was so traumatized it broke my heart. Thankfully my Aunt is a special education teacher and she and an IEP advocate came to one of the IEP meetings and started throwing down rules and regulations and got that IEP totally rewritten. Then i moved out of district. But IEP was in place.
I'm so sorry your son went through all he did. It failed him and I've seen that so much around here
