Everyone with a rational brain needs to delete Twitter.
I know we talk about social media and it's many, many flaws.
Twitter needs to be shut down. Twitter has become something else entirely. Elon is a purveyor of hate. Don't laugh at this shit either.
All of you who are the "unaffected"...the ones who say..."whatever....free speech" ....."its just par for the course"...."this is nothing like what happened in Germany" ...shut the fuck up. Sit down and actually take in what is happening around you. Don't dissociate from it. Whether you want to believe it or not this is the perfect setting for the atrocities that happened in the past to happen again and if you sit by and allow it you are responsible. Don't think your apathy is an excuse to skirt responsibility.
Twitter is dying and Elon is losing money by the day. The game plan is to accuse those who talk about hate and antisemitism and racism of creating a false narrative claiming that antisemitism has risen exponetially on the site and many advertisers pulled their ads. They want to try and claim fraud. For reports of factual information.
Do you understand what this means?

They don't like the research that says antisemitism and hate have risen on the platform. So they want to claim it is criminal. The Missouri Attorney General claims they will "look into it"
Nothing to look into. Nothing criminal about resereach findings. Advertisers pulling ads based on resesrch isn't anything new. This is how we should be making decisions. Especially hralth decisions and descions about education...all based on research findings.
Delete Twitter.

It has been, for the longest time, a great platform to connect with independent and on the ground journalists and scientists. It’s vital information.
But I feel the same as you, it’s going down hill fast and the amount of toxic and racist/hateful/far right/anti-science ideology is gross. It’s actively being prioritised.
I’m looking for a good alternate, but haven’t found one yet. I’m open to suggestions though!
@HippyChic I have not found a good alternative yet either...I haven't been able to get on bluesky though. That's the last one I have to check out. The other ones were truly lacking when I attempted them.
@JaggedLittlePill I tried Mastadon and Threads, neither had the same offering.
What I hate is Twitter was and could still be such an amazing platform. It still is if you’re connected with the right people, and aren’t shy with the block button.
@HippyChic I feel I am blocking so many. I am definitely not shy with it. I tend to get caught up with some of the comments and retweets ..its a hell to block them all.
I did try mastadon and threads too, those were the two I couldn't recall.

Like, I have accounts which are clearly pictures of porn stars, but they’re liking loads of my tweets, messaging me, trying to interact… it’s like, I know you’re some bot or some weirdo.
