Just discovered that my mobile data provider has adult content lock set to on by default

I can't even Google boobies until my WiFi returns unless I ring my provider and ask them to remove the lock 🤨

DAMN YOU, CRUEL FATE 😭

Hmm that shouldn't be technically possible, the traffic between you and google is encrypted so that only you and the server can decipher it. Did you buy the phone from that MNO?
@Elessar the content is encrypted, but the target address is not. Otherwise the internet provider wouldn't know where to send the content to. And if you know which website someone is trying to interact with, you can block it.

@NerdyPotato Yes but the links in the Google's results page are part of the (encrypted) HTTPS response, not the DNS. For them to actually see or even control the results you get they would have to decrypt the response first, modify it and then re-encrypt it again. Technically this is possible but they would have to either have a rogue CA installed on your phone first (hence why I was asking if the phone was sold by them), or potentially much worse, one of the globally trusted CAs might be issuing certificates covering domains that don't belong to the subject that request them, for the intent of violating the privacy of millions of users.
@Elessar oh, right. They can't filter the results indeed. I just figured he couldn't open any page with boobies that Google suggested rather than literally not being able to perform the search.
That's a good excuse to ask for boobies on here.
