Do not want all the evidence against their negligence admitted in court.
Among the evidence they want thrown out is their son's diary.
Some of the things written in the teen's diary:
He wanted help. He asked his parents for help. There is further evidence of them ignoring that he was crying out for help.. as the school called them to a meeeting that day. The school told them he needed help. They refused.
He is absolutely responsible for his actions...so are they.

He is going to be disappointed on this score: "People will be talking about my shooting for years .." Perhaps there needs to be an educational campaign to point out that most such people are quite quickly forgotten. This should of course be accompanied by the general population making sure that they are not talked about. In Norway we had a mass killing a few years ago. The perpetrator has become essentially an unperson, we almost never say his name.
