I believe that the common sense notion "if it isn't broken don't fix it" is the most foolish thing I've ever heard.

This is not Wisdom, it's Arrogant foolishness.

To put my response in a Slogan just because something WORKS doesn't mean it's the BEST or IDEAL way to do things.

An internal combustion engine car will get me where I want to go- sure, it works.

But burning the fuel source is warming the planet and if we don't transition to a cleaner transportation grid our species time on this earth will not be long.

Just because Something WORKS doesn't mean we should use it.

Hmmmmm. Ok, so I'll sit on the fence with this one as I do use it a bit....

In terms of science and understanding? Sure, we strive forward...we learn new stuff.....we re-learn old stuff....we weigh up the for's and against's.....and create what we need to create for that moment in time. Be they inoculations, space rockets or vacuum cleaners.....

However, there is that thing - that special something - that just happens and if you try to dissect it, and work out the inner motions, then you just spoil the magic of it.

Athletes might have an unorthodox way of doing things but it works for them...same with musicians.....

learning to do things the 'correct' or the 'efficient' way might just not be as correct for them. In that respect learning more can effectively make them less.

Does that make sense?
