I Have Something to Say

Chronic health conditions help to put lockdown into perspective. "This will last all year" still sounds better than "this will last the rest of your life".

I wonder what the traffic will be like the day the lockdown is over? I think I'll skip it 馃槵

I notice a lot of parallels to my chronic illness. Things people used to tell me to just suck up they find to be insufferable. The mean girl in me laughs at them. Maybe it will help foster empathy but I doubt it.

I am by no means minimizing this disease we do not fully understand yet. But if one looks at the Malaria stats for last year.. that is also scary stuff. And as SwampFlower correctly says... often the "poor", the "chronic disease sufferers" are told to "suck it up" and now.... everyone is scrambling because now it can be anyone.

This is apparently my mums last year alive according to her drs as her tumour has come back. She was supposed to see her son get married and go to see her family in New Zealand for the last time and because of this virus both of these things have been postponed. She can't wait for it to be over so that she can hopefully still get to experience them

@Beautifullyderanged I'm extremely sorry to hear that. The knock on tragedies from this thing aren't always immediately obvious to everyone.

@Beautifullyderanged I am so sorry.

@Lochlee thank you

@SW-User they wont be and I wouldn't expect people to even realise them. When things like this happen it is natural to think about the immediate issues that need sorting first
