I Have Something to Say

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-sussex-49225631

Remind me again why "Pride" is such a great event?

If you can't celebrate what makes you you without drugs
OR AT THE VERY LEAST WITHOUT LEAVING YOUR DAMN RUBBISH BEHIND ON THE BEACH

you frankly belong behind bars.

Whatever noble purpose it once severed "pride" has morphed into yet another vapid exercise in nauseating consumerism and utter drivel. Please can we stop celebrating this tacky nonsense until its participants are willing to be f***ing adults

I completely and utterly agree... I said similar at the time it was ongoing and got lambasted on here. It's nice that now's it's over people can see it for what it is again.

@Quizzical it's not "pride" itself it's any similar sort of event though for some reason recent examples tend to be drawn from the same celebration.

Sorry, wrong word. Doesn't appear to be a celebration at all if this is what they leave behind. It's an exercise in uncaring debauchery.

I don't know a single four year old who would leave his or her rubbish behind. How does this lot manage it?

@Lhayezee I myself was saying that if Pride is still so important then they should take a Black History Month approach by educating people. All these things are is an excuse for, as you say, debauchery, and exhibitionism. Plus they are not representative of a majority of LGBT people.

If you as a bi woman, and myself as a bi man can see this and don't like it, what the impression going to be on those who are already untrusting of the LGBT community. It's just going to do more damage than good.

@Quizzical I'm embarrassed that by my sexuality I'm even tangentially linked to it tbh

@Lhayezee I understand that completely 😟
