I Have Something to Say

Notre Dame cathedral in Paris is on fire. Huge parts of the roof have collapsed. I am in tears as I watch this 850 year old landmark disappear before my eyes. Paris will never be the same.
update: The flames are spreading and have now reached one of the bell towers.

It is a huge loss. Apart from its artistic value, it is a symbol for Christian Europe.

It could, and should be rebuilt. Other temples were badly damaged by fire and rebuilt.

My fear is that, bearing in mind in which hands France is now, they decided to make a monument dedicated to the 'fraternity among religions', devoid of any Christian meaning.

@Cierzo They're saying the European union is going to help in the rebuilding. It's a church, it will be rebuilt as such. I've been to mass there several times, it's always packed. So sad it went up in flames right before Easter.
