I Have Something to Say

Smokers should be denied health insurance. They should not be denied healthcare, that would be cruel, but they should have to pay for it out of their own pocket. And if they don't like that, then screw them, stop smoking. There is no excuse in this day and age to keep smoking.

A significant amount of the cost of cigs is taxes, that go into the healthcare system, accounting for their likely increased demand of it. You'd have first to cut those prices, and by doing so you'll end up creating *more* smokers and not less.

Smokers by definition don't care about the long term, threatening them with the prospect of expensive healthcare in the long run won't impact their will to continue smoking anywhere as much as suddenly making cigs cheaper.
