I Have Something to Say

Why do so many antisocial people end up on social media sites? Is it like spreading their misery to others is therapeutic for them?

It could be because in real life people tend to stay away from them. Social media may provide them with the outlet of their thoughts that they lack in the real world.

It can be pretty distressing, however. I come to SW for fun, not for nasty rantings.

True. I abhor smalltalk, yet it seems that it is unavoidable with some people.

You want to know about the weather? Look to the east. You want to know about Aboriginal use of fire? Sure, we can talk about that.

On the other hand, it is tough to jump into a deep discussion immediately with someone.

@HoraceGreenley: Really? How? From my perspective, it is either sink or swim. I'm very mentally flexible, and I often wonder why people who think that I am set in my ways frown when they realize that I am rather used to looking at everything from multiple angles. Socially, I'm far from the best, yet I can cut through data like a knife. :)

Most people don't want to jump in with both feet until they test the waters first. This is for people that don't know you well.

@HoraceGreenley: Oh, okay. Thanks for the clarification, then.

People are strange. :/ Fickle, too...
