I Have Something to Say
Well a sunny but windy day in Perth today, but as I sit back and think of tomorrow Remembrance Day and the 100th anniversary of the end of WW1 I look back to the 5th September and the 5 hour bike ride I took around the French countryside to find my Great Uncle William KIA at Warlencourt at the age of 23 , sat with him for 45 minutes being the first relative to find and visit his grave, and having seen all the headstones and the cemeteries in the area a sense of sadness at the amount of lives lost overwhelms me, tomorrow the 11/11/2918 I shall attend the Remembrance Day memorial a 10 minute walk away and remember those young men from all nations who gave their lives for the freedom we all now take for granted today, and lay a poppy at the memorial, for my Uncle and all those who died in places far from home, I hope people around the world talk some time to reflect on what an important day to remember all those people both military and civilian that lost their lives , Lest We Forget.
