Well, to be honest most house dogs today are generally made to be house dogs.

Look at the common house pet from 100 years ago they looked like different animals.

Pugs for example, people thought the short snout was cute. So we breed it into them. Which is why they have breathing issues.

German shepherds have slopping backs. Because one German Shepherd had a slopping back in a dog show. An everyone thought it was unique.

So we breed them all to have slopping backs. Which causes them hip issues.

Doxons or Dachshunds didn’t used to have such long backs.

But people liked it. Thought it was unique. So they began to breed them to have long backs.

An now they suffer from back issues.
