I Have Something to Say
[b]Pursuing God's Program[/b]
[i]I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received...(The Spirit) gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up.[/i]
EPHESIANS 4:1, 11-12
When I was in my twenties, an older Christian man asked me what I was going to do with my life that would last forever. He said, Bill I see lots of fire in you for making money and creating an exciting lifestyle. But what about spiritual things? What about God's program for transforming people and changing the world? You're willing to put best efforts into pursuing your program. But what about God's program?"
His words brought me face to face with the most fundamental questions a person can ask: What am I going to do with my one life? What am I going to do that will touch people? What am I going to do that will make a difference eternally ? Those questions haunted me and ultimately opened my eyes to God's calling on my life. Perhaps you should ask those same questions.
What are you going to do with your one and only life? Courageously step out in faith "so that the body of Christ may be built up."
