It's not as if physical abuse is the only kind of abuse there is, it's just the type that is depicted in the picture. The problem is that abuse towards men, no matter what type it may be, is being treated as a joke. SoulAsylum is right, if wife had been replaced with husband, I'm sure more people would have been upset about it. It is a double standard.

Domestic abuse is never funny, I find it disturbing.

@Unicorn - It's like that across society now though... Women are ALWAYS in the right, and to argue with them gets a guy branded a misogynist

Watch out for UnicornSparkles Quizling! She can be quite the vixen when she means to be. I'm not even allowed to look at her! 🙈 It's part of her charm though. ^.^

I watched an episode of Dr. Phil about women abusing men. It was really sad. One wife broke her husbands nose 2 or 3 times. Of course these men were being gentlemen and not hitting them back. I don't believe in domestic abuse.. but my god if I broke my husbands nose he has every right to defend himself.. even if it meant hurting me.

It happens Near Miss, and my story is true, it happens more than people know it happens because men are too embarrassed to speak up, in the situation of my story it was called attempted murder and the hospital staff were the ones that brought it out in the open.
I take it you have been abused, knew someone who was abused or was raised women are inferior and believe it. I once knew a woman who used to say men are stronger than women and she was abusive to her husband too just not to the extent Ashlee was to Tray, because she claims the women who spoke just like you, she wasn't hurting her husband anyway.

I agree it would be met with a deluge of feminazi hate.
Political Correctness today is going OTT.
The call for Censorship of free speech, is a bit of an oxymoron.
Why silence people ? It's the best way to identify attitudes out there.
Men suffer in many ways ... often overshadowed, in favor of female social issues. Both are just as important in their unique cases.
Feminism is no longer about equality it's become hypocrisy..

NearMiss, according to the mational domestic abuse hotline, it is true for about 1 in 7 men.
hami1091 · 41-45, F
For anyone who does not think females can abuse males it happens.
My little "brother" was in an abusive marriage, she was abusive before he married her, so he knew what he was getting into. She once threw a flower pot at his head that he needed stitches for before they were married. His problem was he was raised not to hit a "girl" and also she was pregnant and he was raised "he had to marry her" Once they were married the abuse got worse she waited until he went to sleep and would beat him, if nothing else, she once attacked him with a hammer in his sleep.
After their son was born she got worse and was jealous if he even held the baby. He always wanted a 1969 Dodge Charger, his parents got him one, for whatever reason his at the time brother in law restored it and did the paint job, she destroyed it.
His dog from childhood a jack Russell terrier she tied to the back of her car and dragged to death.
She is a crazy nut, who is now where she belongs in prison.

Domestic abuse can be, and IS aimed at men too NearMiss.
I was in an abusive relationship, and the fact that she couldn't hurt me physically did not detract from the hurt I felt inside BECAUSE she was trying to hurt me...

This was really interesting, and to be honest I didn't even find the picture funny - not because of the reason you stated, but I hate the idea that women always have to be right in a relationship. That a man can't argue with a woman. It's stupid.
You bring up a good point though, that should the roles be switched, the poster would totally be crucified for making light of domestic violence against women. Hmm, food for thought.

A lot of women are physically abusive toward men. You don't hear about it because if they say anything about it they're called wimps and made fun of.
SoulAsylum · 36-40, M
You're making light of how strong most women are. Anyways a woman could pick up a object and knock someones teeth out.
