I Have Something to Say

Wow i had the worst day i think ive ever experienced yesterday. I went to this place to get an MRI to figure out whats going on with my nerves and why loud sounds affect my body the way it does. Sad to say, the machine was very loud and triggered my nerves within 30secs of being in there. I basically hyperventilated, my legs went numb, my arms were all tingly, i got the worst headache, and i had a panic attack out of the blue, screaming "get me out of here!" While sobbing so hard. I thought i was gonna die
They said to go to a different place that doesn't have as loud of machines..

Ugh so sorry to hear that. MRI's are pretty gruelling to go through, even when they're quiet - and they're never really *that* quiet, from my experience :(

Do the headphones help, or is your body picking up the vibrations without needing the ears?

@firefall my body's picking up the vibrations without needing thr ears. Damn, that's worded so well, im gonna use it for future explanation

Yeah, definitely a thing to know before getting an MRI. They are super loud. Typically they can give you headphones to drown out the noise, but I guess they didn't have that there.

It sounds irresponsible of the radiologist to use a MRI based on your condition. They do make an open MRI that is for people that are claustrophobic. Not sure how loud it is.
