I Have Something to Say

School holidays are over :(

I much prefer having my kids around me versus the rigmarole of the school week...getting kids out of bed, making sure uniforms are ready, school lunches, homework, school hats. Ughhhhh. When you grow up you think you're done with school, but then they drag you back in via your kids. Ugggghhhhhh.

What did Al Pacino's Michael Corleone famously say in Godfather III?
"Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in!"
XD
I'm also glad to know that Aussies use "rigmarole" as well.

There are way too many school holidays here....every 10 weeks?!! They just getting back into the routine of things and then they are off. No wonder people struggle to live in this country....people have to work, but have to pay for child care, holiday program, or some sort of activity because their kids are out of school. Why not just give them long weekends every three months....and maybe second semester do a 10 day holiday. This every 10 weeks is expensive and boring If there is no money.

@MissMollyCharlotte0702 I agree. When I was growing up there were only 3 terms in the school year. My biggest gripe as a single working parent are school hours. Even when I was studying a couple of years ago, the school hours were so troublesome and clashed terribly with 'the real world' schedule. I think school should start at 8:30 and finish at 5:30 with NO HOMEWORK!
I grew up in America so we had much longer summers.
