I used to think for as long as I could remember, that if I live in misery just for the sake of obeying you, it's okay and thus, it had been the fate I chose. Now I realize I was just dead wrong. To break free -the fate I choose- is life. Do I get to choose?

Yes you are suppose to be in the driver's seat because it is your life the moment you let or someone forcible takes over the driving will your life is over. Unless you like that sort of thing, Good for you.
