I Have Something to Say
She stood on the edge of heaven and hell,
Toes curled over the emptiness below,
Eyes raised and seared by the glory of heaven,
Eyes raised but heart sinking low.
She reached out and brushed the brightness,
Heaven an inch yet a mile away,
Arm straining, stretching, fingers straightened
The gold of heaven turning gray.
She stood alone at the precipice,
Took that leap that only faith can know,
Stepped toward the light of heaven on earth
And spiraled into the oblivion of hell below.
Toes curled over the emptiness below,
Eyes raised and seared by the glory of heaven,
Eyes raised but heart sinking low.
She reached out and brushed the brightness,
Heaven an inch yet a mile away,
Arm straining, stretching, fingers straightened
The gold of heaven turning gray.
She stood alone at the precipice,
Took that leap that only faith can know,
Stepped toward the light of heaven on earth
And spiraled into the oblivion of hell below.
