I Have Something to Say

I hate the phrase "man up". It implies that men should automatically be able to do anything without fear. Men can't cry? Men can't be afraid? Please. We all have fears. We're all just people, men and women. We can't be and do everything that other people think we should be able to. Sheeesh.

I think the actual intent is that a "man" should be able to do something DESPITE fear, not WITHOUT fear.

i don't like the phrase because a lot of women are at least as capable of that as men.

@RealtaReoite I was going to comment women can man up too. I say it to myself sometimes and then I do "man up" lol

@Paliglass Hate that too, honestly.

when a polar bear crashes through your front door while your children are watching cartoons a man cannot cry, he must fight.
