I Have Something to Say

Over the last few years I have realized that being different can be challenging. I am a 37 year old woman with children and I have certain hobbies that the women my age don't . For instance I love playing with my RC cars outside. I would love to join this RC car community club around my area but it's mainly guys so I wouldn't feel comfortable. I also love playing with my Rubiks Cube and IQ twist brain teaser games. Reading is also another favorite thing of mine. I don't care what people think of me because I rather be me. I'm not going to do what everyone else does just because everyone else is doing it. I think that is ludicrous. I also dress different than most women my age as well but again I have never been the person to follow the crowd. I am a leader not a follower. I just have a hard time talking to other people. Despite not fitting in I'm not going to stop doing the things I love because I have children who I am instilling these same values in and I have to lead by example. I do get sad sometimes because I don't have a lot of friends to talk to. Does anyone else have this problem?

nitro or battery RC Cars?

@Ang444 both are awesome. Lipo batteries and brushless motors changed the scene for electric RC cars. Oh yes... and don't feel sad, the lack of friends isn't always bad. The drama is gone! One good friend would be good for me!

I do have a brushless traxxas RC car that came with the NIMH battery but I upgraded to a LIPO battery and it made it pretty powerful. I think mine has a speed of up to 65 mph. My drifting car though is not a brushless motor but it goes pretty fast as well.

@Ang444 electric has caught up with nitro. No mess and no stinky fuel fumes. I would like to get the HPI savage flux.. just can't seem to foot the bill.

@Ang444 I had the original HPI savage in nitro, loved it. Very strong and dependable RC. The flux is made in a mini version and original... the original is $$$ which is what I want... of course.

I did a quick lookup and I saw $650? Is that about right? This one traxxas I want is around $800 so I feel you there.

@Ang444 Nice! My first car was an all wheel drive, belt driven nitro and made by HPI.. it was all fun until it went in the sewer drain!

@Ang444 it sucked, let's put it that way lol. Pretty cool parent to let your kids have expensive toys like that. I bought my son a traxxas stampede years ago and he never touches it.

I have good kids who never ask me for anything all year except for xmas and bday and even then they have only 2 or 3 items on their list. Dad is not around and no family either so I try to make up for it. Put it this way I always wanted a cabbage patch doll growing up but never got one. Last xmas my 7, 10, @ 11 year old put all their $ together and bought me a cabbage patch doll that cost them $50 so I could finally have my doll.

Yes I do. I think my 7 year old daughter is going to be into cars because I bought her some slow RC car that goes 10 mph thinking she wouldn't like it well she was disappointed because she wants a fast car like mine and she can control it.

It is never too late and I encourage you to do so. If it makes you happy go for it. Happiness that's what life is supposed to be about. Many people are so caught up in the rat race that they don't know that happiness is all they need. When we are old and in our last years of life it's better to reflect back and think about what we did in life and remember all the happiness that we experienced with ourselves and others!
