I travelled on a mule once. Is it cross breed of donkey? Ride was a good one. In connection to your post, Apart from fulfilling the scriptures, he chose donkey because it is meek?

This was a deliberate act of humility, fulfilling an Old Testament prophecy about the coming king riding a donkey.
Riding a donkey instead of a horse, a common symbol of royalty and war, was a clear display of humility and peace.
