Interesting tidbit- President Coolidge once owned a pygmy hippo named Billy. Coolidge kept it in the National zoo in Washington DC to be looked after, which was a smart move on Coolidge's part as they can be just as aggressive as their full size counterparts. Billy had 23 children, 13 of whom survived. It is rumored the pygmy hippos in the DC zoo today are Billy's descendants
