Is Facebook or social media in general a personal diary for you to vent and let personal skeletons out the closet or is it way for you to reconnect and meet new people?

Tumblr is my to go place to vent pure poetry, with others who enjoy the outlet as well but as for making friends, I never put in enough effort, I'm never looking for a connection, just a new outlet to display, my writting, communication takes effort I'm so lazy. :/
