Why are the liberals against voter ID

It seems like a no brainer to me. One person told me the reason is because the poor don't have one....Now that's a head scratcher.

The "Poor" managed to file for welfare and they can't figure out how to get a photo ID?

They somehow get to the polls and vote for the democrat candidate that offers the most free goodies.....And yet they are still poor

Everyone has a voter id surely as they are able to vote. But I feel that everyone should have id in the UK like they do in France but government won't pay out money on it, expecting people to voluntarily get n pay for id themselves.
Having id would be an easy way to identify yourself when needed to by any in authority n also when voting n a good check way to know who is in the country.
Liberals in the UK are useless n would never listen to them or vote for them anytime, defeatist n backward policies they have imo. 😐
