I Have a Question

Am I being a bad son if I don't say happy father's day to my dad? He's a good father, but I don't really want to talk to him. I'm not super close to him, but I also don't want to hurt him. Should I just swallow the pill and talk to him, or is it ok for me to go on with my day and not say anything and ultimately feel better, even with the minor guilt?

And some advice if I may? There is a very good chance that you will get closer to him as you get older. You're at a tough age to be a man, especially if you have a strong willed dad. Mark Twain said it best:
"When I was a boy of 17, my father was so ignorant I could hardly stand the old man. But when I got to be 24, I was astonished at how much he learned in 7 years."
