I Have a Question

Am I being a bad son if I don't say happy father's day to my dad? He's a good father, but I don't really want to talk to him. I'm not super close to him, but I also don't want to hurt him. Should I just swallow the pill and talk to him, or is it ok for me to go on with my day and not say anything and ultimately feel better, even with the minor guilt?

@EatingCereal I do. Many reasons in fact. Reasons I won't be discussing with you. His happiness is not a priority of mine to be frank. I have some respect for him, but I don't feel like I owe him anything. He raised me and he taught me good things, but he also hurt me, and his presence tends to hurt me. However that does not mean I want to hurt him by ignoring him hence the quandary.
